Miami knows a thing or two about good design. When you live surrounded by signage that runs the gamut from hand painted to neon-lit, and candy-colored buildings that have inspired entire fashion movements, its easy to pick up an affinity to good branding, well thought out logos and beautifully put together work. Aaron Draplin knows good design too. A former art director for Snowboarder Magazine, and logo designer extraordinaire, Draplin has spent years building his incredible portfolio of clients.
You can read a whole extensive life story on Aaron James Draplin if you so choose, he’s quite an interesting person. Now in his 40’s Draplin just took his first ever trip to the magic city, and in a candid interview with MIA sessions, sounds off about our traffic, crazy drivers, and his art, amongst other things. For those that have never heard of MIA Sessions, we recommend getting to know this local organization, whose single lofty goal to build a stronger and more involved creative community in Miami thought lectures, collaborations, and workshops mirrors our own.
