It’s that rare moment when you get to own a part of Miami street art history, and you get to do it legally. Its not every street artist that successfully makes his way into a gallery, but the Hit and Run Benefit exhibit to showcase the work of local artist Ahol Sniffs Glue opened on the 9th to an it-crowd of socialites and art aficionados, all with nothing but rave reviews.
The exhibit, which is housed in Wynwood’s Gregg Shienbaum Fine Art Gallery (2239 NW 2nd Ave., Miami, Florida 33127) will run until the 31st of August and serves as a benefit to raise money for the medical bills the artist built up after a hit and run accident he suffered riding his Ruckus about town (hence the name). The exhibit spans five years of the artist’s work in addition to giving viewers a glimpse of the actual smashed scooter, which just happens to be for sale.
